Forsyth County recycling guide

Find out below where to go and who to call to recycle your residential waste: 

County recycling centers:

Hanes Mill Road Landfill - 325 Hanes Mill Road, (336) 661-4900

Forsyth Co. Center #1 - 445 Lindsay St., Kernersville (near the Public Works Department), (336)723-2784

Forsyth Co. Center #2 - 6328 Yadkinville Rd., Pfafftown (beside Vienna Volunteer Fire Department) - (336) 723-2784

Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays-Saturdays, except major holidays.

Accepted materials: Aluminum beverage cans; glass bottles and jars (clear, green and brown); plastic bottles and jugs (clear and colored); steel food and beverage cans; aerosol cans; chipboard (i.e. cereal boxes and paper towel rolls); junk mail and office paper; magazines and catalogs; newspaper; telephone books; corrugated cardboard; tires (at Hanes Mill Road landfill only).

The city of Winston-Salem provides weekly recycling collection to households and some small businesses. Get details here

Call 727-8153 to request small business or multi-family recycing.

Call 727-8418 to request school recycling.

Call 784-4300 for information on household hazardous waste recycling.
